Editorial Mission & Standards
About CI Tripwire
CI Tripwire (published at dsotn.com) is an independent software engineering publication built for developers, repository maintainers, and SaaS teams who want concrete, primary-sourced answers before merging high-impact configuration or billing code.
What we cover
We focus on GitHub Actions CI/CD security, Node.js Stripe billing reliability, and production AI release engineering, plus practical planning worksheets for independent operators.
How every guide is structured
Guides lead with extractable key takeaways and a direct bottom-line answer, bind non-trivial technical claims inline to official documentation, and close with explicit review and source disclosures.
Independent identity
CI Tripwire is published independently by CI Tripwire Editorial and is paired with our open-source workflow auditor gha-guard. We are unaffiliated with GitHub, Stripe, Fortra Tripwire, or any enterprise security vendor.
Contributors, review posture, and commercial disclosure
Articles on CI Tripwire are authored and maintained at the organization level under the byline CI Tripwire Editorial. We do not invent individual personas, fabricated credentials, or third-party endorsements, and each article states plainly in its closing section that independent external security, legal, or clinical review has not been commissioned.
All engineering guides and browser worksheets on dsotn.com are free to read without login walls or email gates. Where a guide or worksheet includes a commercial affiliate relationship, such as our local-newsletter launch plan and Ad: Local Media Empire checklist, every discovery card, page header, and outbound button discloses the paid relationship before you click and uses rel="sponsored noopener noreferrer".
Primary sourcing standard
We treat citations as claim-level verification rather than decorative footnotes. Every non-trivial claim about platform behavior, default permissions, API parameters, rollout dates, or benchmark figures must appear in the exact source linked beside that sentence.
- Primary canon first: Official platform documentation and changelogs (GitHub Docs, GitHub Changelog, Stripe Documentation), standards bodies and security foundations (NIST, OpenSSF, SLSA, OWASP, FTC), statutes, and peer-reviewed technical papers.
- Labeled secondary context: When reputable secondary reporting or preprints add operational context not covered in official docs, we state the source type and limitations inline.
- No commercial fluff as proof: Marketing landing pages, forum speculation, and unverified summaries are never cited as evidence of technical capability or performance.
Corrections and currency updates
Platform defaults, rollout dates, and API versions move. When official documentation changes or a reader spots an inaccurate claim, broken reference, or ambiguous example, we verify the live primary record, update the affected guide, increment its modified timestamp, and log the change in the repository changelog.
To report a factual error or outdated platform behavior, open an issue through our public GitHub project channel on agentlaunchops-ai/gha-guard with the article URL and the primary documentation link.
